Give the Gift of Travel

With the holidays right around the corner, you may be wondering what to give that special someone.  How about something that will last longer than flowers, dinner or candy?  Something that won’t end up in the closet or tool box to pile-up and collect dust?  Something you can give that they will remember for a lifetime?  That would be the gift of travel.

A seven-day Alaskan cruise, four days at a Hawaiian resort, or a weekend in a private bed & breakfast could be just what your loved one(s) needs to feel special.  A Travel Agent can help you through the myriad of options available and she will give you the special attention you need to make somebody you care about very happy.  Your local Travel Agent can help find that perfect getaway without the hassle.  It’s time to take the guess-work out of giving and leave all the work to a travel expert.

Maybe you’re not sure where your loved one would like to go?  You can always give a gift certificate.  You can give the gift without the worry.  Ask your ASTA agent about hotels, resorts, cruise lines or any number of options that offer gift certificates that can be redeemed at a later date.  You don’t have to make any of the arrangements, yet you will be remembered for giving a most wonderful gift.

Giving travel as a gift really is incomparable to most any other gift.  I know from personal experience--having been a recipient, a giver, and a third party (Travel Agent) in the gift offering--that it’s the kind of gift that is remembered for a lifetime.  And it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.  Whether you conspire with others to contribute toward a big trip, or give a short weekend away, it will be a gift everyone will happily cherish.

Find the experience of a lifetime at your fingertip.

Useful Travel links (non commercial)
  • Flight Tracker- Very cool tool to dynamically watch a flight cross the country
  • Listen to real time air traffic control Listen to live radio conversations between pilots and air traffic controllers at Chicago Approach Control.  Did you know that at any given time, there are over 6,000 aircraft in the air at once.  Someone has to deal it.
